Gage, United States Navy Reserve, stationed on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay sent back home to his family in Needham, Massachusetts, June of 1946. A loving son he writes lengthy letters, about 5 pages each, which are filled with wonderful descriptions and details of his time and life serving in the Navy: he raves about the San Francisco area and describes life on Treasure Island. He works on a tug, takes a trip down the coast on Highway 1, goes to UC Berkeley campus and more. Adding some depth to his writings Frank makes a hand drawn map showing the San Francisco Bay, Treasure Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, with comments about the dense fog and much much more.
